Castle Rock Marine

Winterizing Policy – Updated 08/26/2022

Thank you for choosing to service with Castle Rock Marine. We appreciate your
business and would like to take a moment to review our policies and
recommendations for spring start up.

Boats winterized at Castle Rock Marine do not need to return in the spring for inspection
or any special start up procedures, however, there are items that must be checked prior
to launching in the spring. Your engine manual will have complete start up instructions
but the following should always be checked prior to running the engine:
-Lower unit grease level – open top screw and dip a twist tie or other measuring device
into the cavity to verify the lower unit lube remained full during storage.

-Lower unit drain screws (2) – inspect for signs of leaking and hand tighten to be sure
screws are seated properly.

-4-Stroke engines have crankcase oil. Please verify oil level by pulling dipstick and
checking for proper fluid level. - Inspect oil filter and make sure it is seated properly
and crankcase fill screw is in and tight.

-Drain plugs are removed from the boat hull (if applies) by Castle Rock Marine and tied
to steering wheel or other obvious location. If your boat has a drain plug be sure to
install it before launch

Checking these items before launching in the spring is the responsibility of the owner.
Should you choose not to check these items, Castle Rock Marine Inc, cannot be
held liable for failure. We do offer a Run For Spring service that includes the above
inspections.
